The Scotts LawnService Scholarship is a unique, annual program that combines a hands-on internship at the company’s corporate headquarters in Marysville, Ohio with a scholarship that will cover an entire year of tuition. The opportunity provides exposure to project work in agronomics, supply chain, customer service, environmental health and safety, and operations management.

"This program has been a big benefit for Scotts LawnService over the last few years,” said Corey Pangborn, specialist for Scotts LawnService Technical Services team and a graduate of Ohio State’s Turfgrass Science program. "We get access to high-caliber individuals who have a strong agronomic education and who are ready to go out into the industry and succeed. We introduce them to our business and build a strong working relationship with them so they will work for us when they graduate.”

The program is available to juniors (or those with one year of school remaining) majoring in Turfgrass Science, Crop Science, Landscape Horticulture, Entomology or other related field and with an interest in the lawn and landscape care or pest control industries. Applicants must currently have a minimum GPA of 3.0 which will need to be maintained throughout the program.

The internship will begin on a part-time basis this spring and extends to a full-time, paid internship in the summer months, with a part-time commitment during the following school year. Up to two students from The Ohio State University are selected each year. After successful completion of the Scholarship Program, the recipients may be offered post-graduate employment with Scotts LawnService.
