Eugene grew up fishing the Great Lakes with his grandfather. He is Program Director for Aquatic Ecosystems Extension, teaches fisheries management at The Ohio State University's School of Environment and Natural Resources, and is former Assistant Director of Ohio Sea Grant and F.T. Stone Laboratory. Eugene is active with the American Fisheries Society, is a past president of its Ohio chapter, and is current president of the Ohio Lake Management Society. His MS is in Fisheries Management.
