Meet Your Candidates for the Board

The following are nominees for three vacant Trustee positions on the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation Board. These candidates, along with the candidates for executive committee positions will be voted on at the annual meeting being held on December 7th at 7 pm at Barley's Brewing Company (downstairs room).
Bayer Crop Science, Columbus, Ohio
been with Bayer since July 2014, and recently relocated to Columbus from
Pittsburgh. Before coming to Bayer he was with Jacobsen turf equipment for 2.5
years as a territory manager, covering the northeastern US and Quebec in Canada.
Prior to Jacobsen he was the Golf Course Superintendent at Chartiers Country
Club in Pittsburgh, PA for 9 years and Glen Oak Country Club in Clarks Summit,
PA for 5 ½ years. While at Glen Oak he was active in the Pocono Turfgrass
Association where he served as a board member for 4 years. At the time of his
departure for Pittsburgh he was the Vice President of the association. In 2003
he was appointed to the Greater Pittsburgh GCSA Board of Directors and became
President (2007 to 2009).
Darrin has been actively involved in various local
& state turf associations, such as: Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council, board
member; the New Jersey GCSA; Metropolitan NY GCSA and Hudson Valley GCSA.
Darrin has also been a member of GCSAA since 1990. He has presented at numerous
local, state and national conferences; most recently at the GIS as an
instructor for a 4 hour seminar on labor data collections/data uses for the
golf course superintendent.
graduate of The Ohio State University with a BS in Agronomy, Darrin is the
father of two boys; Jacob, a senior at Ohio State (24) and Kyle (22) a senior
at Willamette University in Oregon. He is married to Jacinta for 24 years. Darrin
also enjoys playing and watching sports (especially the BUCKEYES), hiking/traveling
with his family and is an avid reader.

Heritage Club, Mason, Ohio
|Tony Dierkers was born and raised in Cincinnati and graduated from Moeller High School before earning his Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy from the College of Agriculture at The Ohio State University in 1994. From 1993-1999 Tony worked at Muirfield Village Golf Club as an assistant superintendent, preparing the course for events such as The Memorial, The 3 Tour Challenge, and the Solheim Cup. |
For the past 16 years he has served as the superintendent at Heritage Club in Mason, Ohio. He earned the designation of Certified Golf Course Superintendent in 2005 and is a 2 time past and current president of the Greater Cincinnati Golf Course Superintendents Association. Tony currently serves as a national delegate tothe GCSAA, and isa member of the National Education Committee.
Tony and his wife Kris (teacher at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton) have a daughter, Emma who is a senior attending the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.

|Chad Mark grew up in Washington Court House and graduated from Miami Trace High School. Following high school, Chad went on to Ohio State where he earned a degree in Turf Science with a minor in Agricultural Business. |
Chad has been around the industry for as long as he can remember as his father, Alan, works for Jacklin Seed. He began working on golf courses at age 16, when he started working at The Elks in Wilmington, Ohio. While at The Elks, John Wynn and Blaine Pinkerton were a tremendous influence on Chad's decision to pursue turfgrass management as a career.
Prior to arriving at Kirtland in 2003, Chad interned at Double Eagle Club and Sand Ridge Golf Club and then became first assistant to Jim Roney at Sand Ridge.
Chad and his wife, April, have three boys, Drew (11), Ryan (8) and Brett (5).
