43rd Annual Ohio Turfgrass Conference & Show To be Held December 7-10, Columbus, OH |

The planning committee for the 2009 Ohio Turfgrass Conference & Show, December 7-10, Greater Columbus Convention Center, Columbus, Ohio recently announced the schedule for the popular industry event. The annual conference and trade show will celebrate its 43rd year as a regional conference and trade show for professional turfgrass managers.
Approximately 200 leading turfgrass suppliers will display the latest technology, products and services available in turf management. In addition to the 2-1/2-day exhibition, more than 100 hours of educational sessions covering a broad spectrum of turf management topics will be offered.
This year’s Keynote Presentation, Tuesday, December 4, 3:00 pm will feature award-winning photographer, author and accomplished skier Dick Durrance II. Durrance is a former National Geographic photographer now specializing in golf course photography. In addition to the always popular seminars for Golf Course, Athletic Fields, Lawn and
Grounds Maintenance, this year’s program includes new sessions for:
The conference program features turfgrass researchers, faculty, and extensions agents from The Ohio State University, Ohio Agricultural Research Development Center (OARDC), and Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI). Also included in the comprehensive, 4-day conference program are academia from leading turfgrass institutions, including; Dr. Bruce Martin, Clemson University; Dr. Jeff Borger, Penn State University; Dr. Trey Rogers, Michigan State University; and Drs. Fred Whitford and Doug Richmond, Purdue University. Many additional leading industry experts complement the program, which is available in its entirety at www.OhioTurfgrass.org. The educational program was developed in partnership with the Ohio Chapters of the Golf Course Superintendents Association, Ohio Lawn Care Association, Ohio Sports Turf Managers Association, Ohio Sod Producers Association and Club Managers Association of America. Continuing education credit will be offered through the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA), Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) and pesticide applicators license recertification from Ohio and surrounding states. The Professional LandCare Network (PLANET) will offer certification testing for Certified Turfgrass and Landscape Professionals.

More than 3,000 golf course superintendents, athletic field managers, lawn care operators, landscapers, groundskeepers, sod growers, and other professional turfgrass managers are expected to attend. The Ohio Turfgrass Conference & Show is sponsored by the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation, The Ohio State University, Ohio State University Extension, and Ohio Agricultural Research & Development Center (OARDC).
