Ohio Sod Producers Association
The purpose of the Ohio Sod Producers Association (OSPA) is to maintain
a trade association of individuals and firms engaged in the business
of planting, growing, and selling sod by fostering and promoting
the general welfare of the Ohio sod industry, and encouraging constant
adherence to the highest standards of business practices.
In July 2002, the Board of Directors of the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation
approved a landmark motion that established OSPA as an official
"division" of OTF. This action created a unique, organizational
bond between OTF and OSPA.
The agreement between the two organizations created a separate division
within OTF’s organizational structure under which OSPA functions
as an autonomous body, while its daily managerial and administrative
functions are handled by the OTF staff.
Therefore, members of OSPA automatically become members of OTF and
enjoy the benefits of OTF membership, while maintaining identity
as an Ohio Sod Producer.
Each year in August, OSPA holds its annual field day at a member’s
sod facility. The OSPA annual meeting is held each year during the
Ohio Turfgrass Conference & Show.
